Alpen Glow on the Maroon Bells at some ungodly hour

While a lot of things did not line up this summer, with some support from my sister I was fortunate to witness the famed Alpen Glow on the Maroon Bells outside of Aspen Colorado.

For the past three summers I’ve been using remote work to see all the big open spaces that make America, trying to stop at those that are most iconic.

After having issues with the camera, having to drive to Chicago and Backtrack, my sister becoming ill, and over sleeping a night due to exhaustion I was rewarded.

Another spring and another glorious wildflower season in California, Larkspur California

As we transition from another winter to spring in 2022, we begin to see and well given its California many places are beginning to experience peak bloom.

This is one of my favorite times of year and places to photograph, poppies, mustard flowers and all the rest.

It is really one of the few times where I live and what i enjoy most align to produce some amazing displays from the fields of Sonoma to the hills outside of Los Angeles.

Seven Magic Mountains - Outside of Las Vegas Nevada

As I exited Las Vegas continuing my trip towards Lancaster California, I did a quick detour to the Seven Magic Mountains. A collection of brightly colored stones that unexpectedly pop out of the desert landscape like the monolith from a 2001 Space Odyssey, well if the monolith were multiple and made of taffy.

A random mix of lookie lous, spiritualists, artists, and wanderers descended on the location to marvel at this rocks including me.

While no portfolio shot, it was an interesting sight to see first hand.
